It all begins with an idea.

My journey into mental health began with a late career change into counselling, inspired by a passion for supporting people in their mental health journeys. Initially working predominantly with men, I noticed a common pattern: many sought help only when in crisis. This realisation sparked a mission to provide support earlier and reshape the culture around mental health, particularly in male-dominated environments.

With my own background in construction, I understand the unique challenges and dynamics of industries where mental health has often been overlooked. I bring my authentic self to this work—casual, relaxed, and approachable. I focus on being relatable to those I support, which has been instrumental in building trust and fostering meaningful connections. This led to the development of a peer support mental health program initially tailored for the construction industry, leveraging relationships and networks to create lasting change.

The program began as a pilot in 2022 to address pressing mental health needs in construction. Starting small, we focused on building trust, understanding, and creating safe spaces for connection and support. Over time, the program has evolved, expanding beyond construction to offer solutions to a variety of industries. While we remain grounded in our roots, our focus is on empowering organisations across sectors to prioritise mental health and well-being.
